Trailing with reddish stem.
General Comments:
*Due to the limited number of buttonweed species found in books it is hard to say if this is correctly identified.

1/2" blue-violet 4 petaled flower terminal on stalk.
Leaves:
1/2" ovate pointed leaves, opposite, sparse on stems.
Plant:
3-6" erect plant. Sometimes branching.
General Comments:
Seen sparingly in fields. Some flowers are white. *Matches species pictures in AFG1 but also appears the same as the above species when pictured in WOT and WOTHC.

Low trailing and branching plant forming dense mats.
General Comments:
The most common bluet seen in Houston, blooms profusely in lawns and on roadside in late winter and spring. *Although this photo matches the one in WOH, WOT and WOTHC show a plant more like the species below but classified as this species.
