a canoe shape. Flower unique to this family.

- Pods with seeds lined along inside.

- Pinnately or palmately divided. Sometimes appears simple when leaflets lost in evolution.
- Plant:
- Vines, herbs, shrubs and trees. Flowers often in globular or elongated clusters.
