Asciepiadaceae - Milkweed Family

Flowers:
Radially symmetric in flat or round umbel-like clusters. 5 sepals. 5 united petals with reflexed lobes. A 5-lobed crown between petals and the 5 stamen. All peices attached to base of the two ovaries.
Fruit:
2 pods, often joined at tips, filled with seeds attached to silky hairs.
Leaves:
Mostly opposite or in whorls.
Plant:
Herbs, shrubs or vines with thick milky sap.
