Acanthaceae - Acanthus Family

Flowers:
2 lipped. Upper li[ usually 2-lobed. Lower lip usually 3-lobed. 2 or 4 stamen, if 4 usually in two uneven pairs. 4-5 sepals.
Fruit:
2-celled capsule.
Leaves:
Smooth margined, opposite. Often streaked or with small bumps.
Plant:
Square stems streaked, usually in mirrorlike pairs. Herb of Shrub.
