I especially enjoy Knitting. |
Here are photos I have taken. |
I haven't done much yet but here's the applets I havemade so far. |
I got by Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Physics with a minor in math at Elizabethtown College where I met three of the wackiest friends a girl could have. Since college I have only managed to visit Jen and Rachel at wedding. Abbey I got to see at Wedding and over Christmas'. Here are photos of us at My Wedding, May 20, 1995, Jen's Wedding, May 25, 1996, and Abbey's Wedding, Sept 20, 1997. We hope Rachel will find someone soon but we don't want her wedding to end up being the last time we see each other.
I got my Master's degree in Physics at Rice University working with Peter Nordlander. I also met Steve at Rice and we got married in PA just after I got my Master's degree.
After studying Chemistry at Rice for another year and a half I put the skills I learned as a physics grad student to good use. I am now a contractor at Shell programming in C and Fortran. Most of the work I do is with Motif under X-Windows adding graphics widgets to a petrophyics analysis package. It's not physics but the people are nice.
Steve actually uses the PhD in physics that he got at Rice. He is now a postdoc at Baylor College of Medicine and uses his science and programming skills to study proteins with cryoelectronmicroscopy. His Web Page tells more.
In February of 2000 we celebrated the birth of our daughter Amanda Leigh Ludtke in a beautiful home birth with a midwife. She now rules our life and thanks to an understanding boss I am telecommuting part time when she allows me to work.
This Web Page is made possible by the generosity of Patton Steuber, my father and president of Steuber Web Services.
